F.A.Q.

Where are you guys located?
We are located on the south end of Jabberwock Beach, about 2 minutes from the airport.

Can I get a taxi to Jabberwock Beach?
Yes, you can get a taxi to Jabberwock from just about anywhere. Taxi drivers will know how to get there. If you are driving there yourself please check the "directions" page for details on how to find us.

Is there anywhere nearby that I can get drinks or food while im at the beach?
Yes, Patrick at Windsurf Antigua right next to us sells snacks and cold drinks. You can also go to the Sticky Wicket for lunch if you prefer to dine in a nice atmosphere and air-conditioning to cool off. There are also some other restaraunts nearby, just ask and we'll tell you how to get there.

Do you guys take credit cards?
Sorry, we don't take credit cards at this time, cash only. Either U.S. or E.C. currency.

Are your instructors certified?
Yes, we are IKO certified and we offer the safest, most effecient teaching methods around.

What kind of gear to you use?
We are equipped with the latest Cabrinha kites (Switchblade 2) which are great for teaching. They are very safe with full de-power ability and also really easy to relaunch from the water. Our instructors will show you how use these kites to their fullest.

Do you have gear to sell?
We don't stock gear for sale but ask around we might have some kit to spare or know someone who is selling gear.

What do you do if there is no wind when i'm scheduled for a lesson?
Hopefully we will be able to re-schedule for a better day during your stay here. We will do our best to accomodate you.

How much wind do you actually need to teach?
We like a minimum of about 12 knots for beginner lessons. Anything less and the kites don't perform as they should and you spend more time relaunching and un-tangling lines. However, we can still go thru the basics such as kite theory, wind window, and rigging even if there is no wind. This is just about the first half hour of a beginner lesson.

I'm bringing my own gear to kite, are there any rules at the beach that I need to follow?
Yes, please ask Adam or one of the local riders before rigging up. Most importantly you should always be aware of swimmers or any locals on the beach, and give them priority. Also ask about the reefs and any dangerous ares you need to be aware of.

Is Andre Phillip around pretty often?
Hehehe, if Dre is on the island and the wind is good, he'll be there riding or just hangin out. Maybe you can get him to launch your kite.
